Dying For Water? You Need Liquid Water Enhancers

We are being bombarded daily with chemicals and poisons, in everything from the air we breathe to the food we eat and the water we drink. Additionally, we are constantly in contact with chemicals in our cleaning supplies, detergents, medications and even our metal fillings.

Enough poisons are seeping into our environment from the ink in pens, innards of broken light bulbs and the mercury from old-style thermometers to poison our natural resources for generations to come. Perchlorate in Drinking Water

The ingestion of perchlorate, found in rocket fuel, causes damage to the thyroid gland, and interferes with iodine absorption. Additionally, thyroid problems can lead to problems with your metabolism. Pregnant women who suffer from iodine deficiencies may give birth to infants with birth defects, including neurological defects, goiters, ADD and lower IQ.

Chromium-6 in Drinking Water

You may already be familiar with this chemical – it was the focus of the movie “Erin Brockovich.” Unfortunately, that movie was not Hollywood fiction. The EPA maintains a list of National Priority Sites, which are areas that are getting extra scrutiny because of known pollution issues. Of the 1,591 sites on that list, chromium-6 has been found at 1,036 of them. A byproduct of industrial plating, leather tanning, wood preserving, and dyes and pigments, chromium-6 toxicity leads to a multitude of health problems, including respiratory distress, kidney failure, circulatory and gastrointestinal problems, reproductive difficulties, and cancers of the liver, brain and other major organs.

Arsenic

Although this poison has been determined to have absolutely no safe level in drinking water, it is still found in the water of over 22 million homes in the U.S. Used as a wood preservative and rat poison and found in glass and alloys, the ingestion of arsenic leads to serious health problems, including skin rashes, reproductive problems including birth defects, damage to the nervous and circulatory systems, and cancers of the skin, lungs, bladder, kidneys and liver.

The Hunger/Thirst Connection

Do you feel like you are constantly hungry? You may actually be dehydrated. Surveys of food consumption nationwide are showing that a significant portion of the population may be suffering from dehydration. Why is this? A number of factors could be contributing to the problem:

- As we get older, our thirst mechanism declines. - We are dissatisfied with the taste of our water and prefer other beverages that may be less hydrating, like sodas.
- We are consuming too many caffeinated and alcoholic beverages.
- We live in artificially climate-controlled environments, thanks to heating and air conditioning.
- We are exercising excessively.
